Painted with professional/museum quality oils on properly stretched canvas presented in a real wood floater frame that accents the artist’s aesthetics. Large size shipping required.
When I painted Glass Horse, I wanted the tiny figurine I knew so well to feel monumental — no longer a small jewel of glass, but a three‑foot‑tall presence shimmering with reflected blue light. Enlarging it let the colors break open: bright oranges, reds, and whites flicker across its surface as if the glass were catching more than one world at once. I set it on a reflective plane made deliberately textural with diagonal strokes, so the surface would push back against the smoothness of the figure. The edge of an open drawer, with beads spilling onto the shiny table, personalizes the scene and shifts it toward the unexpected. And on the right, the curved mirror interrupts the vertical edge, creating a subtle fracture in the space. All of these elements were ways of exploring how a familiar object can become strange, luminous, and psychologically charged when seen at a different scale.

Medium: Oil on canvas
Framing: Custom‑framed by me to complement my specific painting aesthetic.
